It’s easy for journalists to feel like our audience is mostly made up of people who hate us. After all, those folks are often the noisiest. Sometimes people defend us as well, but praise is usually not as loud as criticism. It’s easy to be left with the impression that our audience is mostly haters, with a few fans mixed in. When we consider the feedback (and most notably, the comments) we receive, it’s no wonder that we tend to put people in buckets of extreme viewpoints.
