The Trusted Sources documentary explores why trust in news is declining, and highlights journalists working to restore it.
Trusting News featured in new documentary about trust in media
Trusting News has been featured in a new feature-length documentary about how news organizations are working to combat the declining levels of trust in news.
Trusted Sources, a film by Don Colacino, shares a critical lens of the declining local media landscape and highlights journalists and organizations working to restore it.
Joy Mayer, Trusting News director and founder, is featured in the film. Mayer shares the perspective of many news consumers who are “flooded” by both good and bad information and shares ideas and suggestions for what mission-driven journalists can do to respond.
The film, narrated by Jenn White, host of the WAMU/NPR program “The 1A,” is the culmination of a five-year project. Colacino says his goal with the film is to spark a conversation about the importance of good journalism and to inspire positive change within the industry and the public.
